Concerned About Working With An Intern?

Earlier this month, we posted one question to our followers.

“What hesitations do you have about working with interns?”

Responses varied but they reinforced the concerns we have heard in working with our own clients. If you participated in the survey and are reading this, thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your perspective!

Themes from the survey responses included:

• being overwhelmed by the process - Am I doing this right?

• hesitant about managing interns

• having to train them and working through their learning curve

• concerned about professionalism and experience

The biggest takeaways are process and mindset. It is scary to make sure you, as a business owner or people leader, are doing it properly and creating any new processes for your business. Sometimes we need guidance to alleviate our concerns in order to be able to progress forward and implement new systems effectively.

Why are you afraid to fail? Is it because you are not prepared or have not done the right homework? Are you clear on why you want to do this? The grey area we create for ourselves can lead us astray.
